Tummy Vision offers an HD live Ultrasound at 20 weeks which consists of the most realistic imaging possible of your baby. HD (also known as 5D) shows a baby in a realistic skin tone with details unmatched by only 3D or 4D. HD adds lighting to the imaging to add depth and a natural look to your baby. To prepare for your 20 week ultrasound you want to make sure you are fully hydrated. If you do not usually consume the recommended 64 ounces of fluids per day this can be hard to achieve on the day of the ultrasound because overall hydration is a cumulative process. We recommend drinking 64 ounces of water or fluids per day (or what your doctor recommends) several days or a week before your appointment. If your appointment is on a hot summer day please remember to drink additional liquid if you spend time outdoors to compensate for additional water loss. Avoid eating a large meal 3 to 4 hours before your appointment. Also, be sure to wear comfortable clothes that will allow the tech to easily get to your abdomen to do the ultrasound. Jumpsuits and dresses without shorts are not recommended.

At your 20 week ultrasound appointment we will see your baby in some more detail than previous ultrasounds as your baby is now about the size of a bell pepper. You may have had a standard medical ultrasound at this point but at Tummy Vision this is a magical opportunity to see your baby move around in a calm and comfortable environment with your partner or loved one. Depending on the position of your baby,  we will see your baby’s face and all the little details such as arms, legs, hands and feet. If there is something you are specifically looking for please let the tech know and we will do our best to see it.

Some parents support the idea of eating some natural sugar, like fruit or juice an hour or so before the 20 week ultrasound to provide some sugar stimulation to get the baby to move more.  This is certainly not required but if you know something you eat or drink that will get the baby moving it is recommended to do that right before your appointment. Avoid eating a large meal 3 to 4 hours before your appointment. If you eat a large meal you will tend to get sleepy and so will the baby. We want the baby as active as possible during the ultrasound.

At 3D/4D/HD ultrasound studios provide elective ultrasounds only (non-medical) but if we see something blatantly abnormal or of potential concern we may end the ultrasound session immediately and direct you to contact your healthcare provider for further determination.

38 week 3D ultrasound pictures often show a fully developed baby with well defined facial features. At this point the baby is generally very large and may not be able to move around much. As long as the baby is in a good position for us to see their face we should be able to get good images. Good hydration is especially key towards the end of your pregnancy to get good images.

Yes, we offer a 35 week ultrasound.  At a 35 week ultrasound one can often expect to see a baby with chubby cheeks and detailed features. Keep in mind the longer you wait to get an ultrasound, the more details the baby will have but the more crowded the baby will be. This means your baby might not be able to move (or move as much) if needed to see their face. Either way this is a unique opportunity to see and bond with your baby before they arrive. Good hydration is especially key towards the end of your pregnancy to get good images.

Yes. We sell numerous gender reveal items such as confetti cannons, smoke fountains, baseballs, footballs, balloons and even teddy bears.
